Hi all, this tumblr mainly exists as a way of tracking all the movies I've been watching and some of the initial thoughts, and general feelings, I've had about them.
5/5 - Fantastic movies; movies which need to be seen and enjoyed by everyone.
4/5 - Movies which are very good but don’t have that spark which compels you to make others watch them as well.
3/5 - Average movies; watchable and enjoyable, but nothing which elevates them higher. The baseline all movies are given before watching.
2/5 - Can be watched but really bland and forgettable.
1/5 - Minimal to no reason to watch these films. It may have some redeeming factors e.g. it’s so bad it’s good or there’s one character that’s awesome enough to make it not a total waste of time.
0/5- Total waste of time. Nothing redeemable about these films.
As with every review blog/site, this is all my own personal opinion so feel free to take everything with a grain of salt.
Also I'm Scottish so all reviews will be in UK English. Get used to theatre, colour and words ending in -ised.

#217 Repo! The Genetic Opera
In the near future, after a wide scale series of organ failures, a company emerges offering replacement organs to the masses. The catch is if you ever fall behind on a payment (and you will) then the repo man comes and rips that organ right back out. In this world, 17 year old Shilo (Alexa Vega) is quarantined in her room by a blood disease and tended to by her over-protective father Nathan (Anthony Stewart Head). Nathan wants to protect her from the knowledge he’s the head repo man, and from the world at large, but Shilo has a knack for managing to get loose.
This musical is a bit of a mixed bag: Interesting premise but the delivery is not quite executed properly. Some really good singers, like the aforementioned Head and Sarah Brightman, but a lot of the songs are only so-so. Honestly, even some of the songs themselves have some good specific parts in them followed by some really poor bits. There are a lot of ups and downs with this particular picture.
I really enjoyed the song ‘Chase the Morning’ by Brightman’s character Blind Mag and any of the songs performed by the Graverobber (Terrance Zdunich). Head’s duel performance as the crazy killer and the loving father is also worthy of note but a lot of the rest of the film left me a little disappointed.
Overall I did enjoy it, and the farther I get away from the movie the more it grows on me. This is not to everyone’s tastes but an interesting experience all the same. 3/5
