Hi all, this tumblr mainly exists as a way of tracking all the movies I've been watching and some of the initial thoughts, and general feelings, I've had about them.
5/5 - Fantastic movies; movies which need to be seen and enjoyed by everyone.
4/5 - Movies which are very good but don’t have that spark which compels you to make others watch them as well.
3/5 - Average movies; watchable and enjoyable, but nothing which elevates them higher. The baseline all movies are given before watching.
2/5 - Can be watched but really bland and forgettable.
1/5 - Minimal to no reason to watch these films. It may have some redeeming factors e.g. it’s so bad it’s good or there’s one character that’s awesome enough to make it not a total waste of time.
0/5- Total waste of time. Nothing redeemable about these films.
As with every review blog/site, this is all my own personal opinion so feel free to take everything with a grain of salt.
Also I'm Scottish so all reviews will be in UK English. Get used to theatre, colour and words ending in -ised.

(Rewatch)
When a hostile alien comes to Earth to recover the light of Zartha it is up to agent J (Will Smith) to try and stop her. Problem is, the only other agent that has been able to defeat this alien before doesn’t remember anything about his time in the agency: Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones).
Men in Black 2 is probably the weakest of the 3 films. The original had an interesting concept and visuals going for it, with some well done character arcs which were concluded by the end of the film. The logical step from a story telling point of view would be to follow J’s progress from rookie to agent and some of the trials he and new agent L then had to face. K’s story was over, and there was no real reason to bring him back into the franchise other than recognisably for the fans/advertising. However bring him back is what they did, and this is the movie we got from it.
MIB 2 is a fairly innocuous popcorn film that there is nothing all that wrong with but you won’t remember a couple of hours after you’ve watched it. There is a lot of retreading the same ground, a lot of silly choreography and fight scenes and some really cheesy but family friendly banter. Whatever spark the first one captured was just lost in this one and the series never got it back.
Very easy to sit down and watch but never something you’re going to go out of your way to find. 2/5

When Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) is erased from existence, Agent J (Will Smith) must go back in time and work with a younger K (Josh Brolin) to stop the alien responsible before it’s too late.
While I don’t think to many people were clamouring for a 3rd MIB film it’s nice to have it all the same. While nowhere near as good as the original film it does outstripped number 2 by a good margin. Smith fits back into his old role with ease and Brolin is doing such a pitch perfect Tommy Lee Jones throughout the film that you almost forget that he is another actor. It’s also got some good comedy, some good secondary characters and an overall summer popcorn movie feel to it.
It’s not without it’s faults however. There are some really ham fisted attempts at foreshadowing which are about as subtle as a foghorn, a pretty so-so villain and a completely unneeded twist near the ending that added nothing and, with the benefit of a couple of days thinking time, actually kinda screw up elements of the earlier films. There is never enough there to stop making it an enjoyable experience but they are annoying to have to watch all the same.
Nothing we haven’t seen before, and it’s not going to blow anyone’s mind, but it is an entertaining watch with a bunch of friends regardless. 3/5
